VADIMS DMITRIJEVS’ »INTEGRATION«

Vadims Dmitrijevs (1998) is a Latvian jazz trombone player and songwriter. Performing and studying jazz music since 2017 Vadims has managed to skyrocket his career thanks to his unique trombone virtuosity and musical language. Former member of orchestras such as Latvian Radio Big Band and European Radio Jazz Orchestra Vadims has also gained popularity back home and abroad for his original music which is often played across northern European countries. His debut album “Chapter I”, released in 2021 has gathered positive reviews in Latvia and Europe. Since then Vadims has been actively composing a Bigband program, writing songs and lyrics in collaboration with multiple singers. Vadims and his music appeared at multiple international jazz festivals like “Rigas Ritmi”, “Voicingers on Tour”, “Aarhus Jazz Festival”, “Groningen Jazz Festival” and “Elbjazz”, playing with and being played by already established and, upcoming musicians like saxophonist Nikola Bankov, trumpet player Charlie Porter, drummer Bob Moses, trombone player Nils Landgren, piano player Tino Derado, and many
more.

Vadims Dmitrijevs’ “Integration” is a music group put together in Hamburg. The quintet, consisting of piano player Sophia Oster, saxophonist Kamil Husyainov, drummer Bastian Menz, and double bass player Timon Kraemer, plays original compositions written by Vadims exclusively for this band. The program consists of music dedicated to the city of Hamburg and the emotions and experiences the city has brought to musicians. It embodies elements of Hardbop and Post-bop jazz styles, being an omage to great musicians like Thelonius Monk, Freddie Hubbard, Curtis Fuller, Brandford and Wynton Marsalis'. The program was first presented in Riga, in December 2022 where it was recorded live by Jersika Records and featured on their Vinyl compilation “Live at M/Darbnca vol.1”. Followed by a concert featuring American Grammy-winning trumpet player Charlie Porter on Elbjazz festival in June 2023. Each show played by this quintet was met with excitement from the audience and was given only positive reviews.
